Week 44.1

I AM NOT ALONE
Got a note from Mike Teverbaugh, who is also keeping a blog about his dunk quest, and he's 50! He's training with Gil Thomas, a dunk training guru out here in LA. I'm of course going with Kelly Baggett, who lives in Missouri - go figure. I'm only a week into it with Kelly, b/c of my injuries and illnesses.

It's still hard not to get frustrated due to my 8 months of stagnation. I really want to see improvement!

This week felt only OK. Kelly has me doing really basic stuff, to gauge where I'm at. But it hardly pushes me, and I told him so. So hopefully he'll get me working hard from here out. One thing he's told me is I need to lose a lot of weight. I agree. He had me take a test here, and it said I was "overweight, moderate risk"!!! Gimme a freakin break. I could lose a few pounds, but I don't need to go on Richard Simmons!

Let's DO THIS!!!

Always remember this : you'r never alone. Even people from quebec are reading your post, and I'm one of these persons. I'm a francophone who started his quest 3 months ago. I started to train in the gym with weight for the first 2 month. After that, my cousin wanted to help me and he bough me the vertical jump bible on internet by Kelly Bagget. I'm now doing plyometrics from Kelly twice a week and I'm still training in the gym twice a week with at least 1 day off between plyo and strengh training. Minimum of 2 days between each strenght training in the gym. All this to say that we'r all here to support you in your quest. Continue to work on your jump skils. I'm reading your post every weeks. Fear Nothing !

yeah now u got a companion to try to beat, but u have the advantage not just because the other guy is 50, but I think Kelly is a far better trainer than gil, don't get me wrong gil has known to get guys dunking and that's thebottom line, but gil likes to use expensive gimmicks and gadgets and state of the art secret training techniques , that I beleive to be inferior to just lifting and basic jumps and sprints that that are more sport specific. Don,t let those injuries or whatever slow you down , I recently broke my wrist, but can still box squat.
